The ‘Dirty Soda’ Phenomenon
A “dirty soda” is a mixed drink that starts with a base of regular soda, to which flavored syrups, juices, or fruit purees are added. In some Utah soda shops, additions like popping boba or gummy candy are included. This trend gained national attention in 2022 when singer Olivia Rodrigo was spotted with a drink from a Utah-based dirty soda shop.
